Club Charter
This Charter sets out the principles, expectations, and standards that guide Nithsdale Wanderers Youth Football Club.


7. Player Expectations
Players must show respect, commit to training, demonstrate sportsmanship, be open to
learning, and act as club ambassadors.
8. Parent & Guardian Expectations
Parents support development, communicate respectfully, avoid touchline coaching, ensure
punctuality, raise concerns appropriately, and uphold club values.
9. Volunteer Standards
Volunteers must model values, commit to safeguarding, undertake training, collaborate
with others, and follow policies.
10. Equality, Diversity &Inclusion
The Club promotes equitable access, challenges discrimination, provides reasonable
adjustments, and encourages diversity.
11. Health, Safety & Well-being
The Club maintains safe environments, completes risk assessments, follows emergency
procedures, promotes well-being, and encourages healthy habits.
12. Club Communication
Commitment to clear communication via agreed channels and encouraging responsible
engagement from parents and players.
13. Behaviour and Discipline
Supportive, restorative approaches handled fairly, documented, and aligned with SYFA
guidance.
14. Finance &Fundraising
Responsible financial management, annual updates, sustainable fundraising, and
maintaining accessible participation costs.
15. Club Identity & Representation
Members represent club values in behaviour, social media, and interactions, promoting
pride in tradition and ambition.
16. Continuous Improvement
Annual policy review, feedback gathering, community alignment, and strong governance.

Wanderers Youth Football Club. It describes how we operate, how we behave, and what we
stand for as a community club supporting the development, wellbeing, and enjoyment of
young people through football.
2. Our Mission
To provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive football environment that develops young
players’ skills, confidence, teamwork, and love of the game, while upholding the values of
respect, fairness, and community pride.
3. Our Core Values
Respect – For teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, parents, and the wider community.
Integrity – Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.
Development – Focusing on long-term player growth, not short-term results.
Inclusivity – Ensuring equal access and opportunity for all players, regardless of ability or
background.
Enjoyment – Football should be fun, engaging, and positive for every participant.
Community – Acting as responsible and supportive members of the local area.
4. Club Governance
The Club is overseen by the elected Committee, which is responsible for strategic direction,
safeguarding, financial management, coach support, compliance with SYFA rules, and
communication.
5. Safeguarding Commitment
The Club follows SYFA Child Wellbeing & Protection Policy, ensures PVG membership for
volunteers, maintains CWPO access, promotes safe culture, and handles concerns fairly.
6. Coaching Standards
Coaches must hold or work toward qualifications as per SFA & SYFA, create positive
environments, communicate respectfully, model values, adapt coaching for individual
needs, and uphold safe practice.
